Don joined WAVY-TV in 1989. Before that, he was the news and production director at radio station WRAP-AM.
Don is an award-winning reporter, and a published author. His 1993 book "Rap To Live By" is a collection of positive poetry and rap songs for kids of all ages. Cheryl Tan wears many hats at WAVY-TV 10 and sister station, FOX 43. She anchors, reports, and currently shares morning traffic troubles with viewers on WAVY-TV 10's #1 weekday morning newscast that starts at 4:30 a.m. Cheryl began her journalism career in radio news, as an intern at WINA radio in Charlottesville, where she learned the ropes while at the University of Virginia. She got her first on-air break as a TV reporter at Fox 24 in Macon, Ga. As a one-man-band reporter, she shot, edited and wrote all of her own pieces. She quickly moved up to weekend anchor and left the station as its main anchor. From there, she moved to Richmond, where she was the weekend anchor at WRIC-TV 8. You can normally find Cheryl and her three sons on the baseball field.
Prior to joining WAVY-TV, Jeremy was a meteorologist at WAAY-TV in Huntsville, AL. While there he covered numerous tornado outbreaks and severe weather situations. He was awarded the AMS seal of approval in 2004. He recently qualified for the CBM (Certified Broadcast Meteorologist) seal. He was the first to get it here at WAVY-TV.
Outside of weather, Jeremy likes to spend time with this family, do crossword puzzles and describes himself as a movie-buff. He also likes to stay healthy, so he works out 3 to 5 days a week - weather pending.
