Norfolk, VA, (January 9, 2012) - Norfolk Festevents and the City of Norfolk are pleased to announce the official Norfolk Festevents 2012 Schedule of Events for Town Point Park on the Downtown Norfolk, Virginia

Norfolk Festevents has the region's social calendar booked for 2012, with 75 spectacular events confirmed in Town Point Park along the Elizabeth River!  Celebrate life daily with signature favorites including the 36^th Annual Norfolk Harborfest, the 23^rd Annual AT&T Bayou Boogaloo & Cajun Food Festival, the 25^th Annual AT&T Town Point Virginia Wine Festival, the 30^th Annual AT&T Fourth of July Great American Picnic & Fireworks and the 24^th Annual AT&T Virginia Children's Festival. 

OpSail 2012 Virginia^TM will take center stage this summer, June 1-12, 2012, in Town Point Park and all around the Hampton Roads Region. The 12-day event, spanning 2 weekends and including at least 9 Virginia cities, will include 3 Parades of Sail, Blue Angels Air Shows, tall ship and Navy ship tours, living history displays, festivals and special events, fireworks, international athletic competitions and more! 

Also new this year to the Norfolk Festevents 2012 line up is the Town Point Ribfest. Part of the "Savor the Flavor" Town Point Tasting Series, the inaugural Town Point Ribfest will feature finger-lickin, lip-smackin' good BBQ along with great live music, restaurant competitions and great family fun. The Town Point Park Performing Arts Series continues this season boasting three performances to include the OpSail 2012 Virginia^TM Opening Night Gala with the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, Theater in the Park with the Virginia Stage Company, and Virginia Opera's 4^th Annual Opera in the Park. The previously named Acoustic Music festival blossoms this year into the TBD Festival featuring independent performers of all musical genres as well as incorporating other art forms to include Improv and stage acts, visual artistry and even some artists that don't fit exactly into any category.  The festival itself doesn't fit into any category, which is why the staff is having a hard time coming up with a name!
