"Will You Marry Me?"

Bending on one knee is so yesterday. The modern man has found new ways to propose to his loved one; or for that matter, the modern woman is now taking the ring in her own hands and, at times, doing the proposing herself. Hiding the diamond in the Crème Brulee or putting your intended's name on the Jumbotron at a big game - been there done that; time for something really unique.

How about putting your proposal in water?

Norfolk Festevents, the producer of the 37th Annual Norfolk Harborfest, June 6-9, 2013, in Town Point Park, Norfolk, VA, is giving one lucky person the opportunity to surprise his/her significant other with a marriage proposal spelled out in the water used for the Dash 7 Designs - Interactive Waterfall Swing that will be featured at this year's festival.

The interactive swing set creates a water plane falling in the path of its riders that opens as riders pass through gaps in the water creating the thrill of narrowly escaping obstacles by precisely monitoring their path. The interactive art piece can also spell letters like "Will You Marry Me?"

Interested grooms and brides-to-be can enter by emailing their name, address, phone number and short paragraph about why you would like to propose at Harborfest to pondc@festevents.org by noon on Friday, May 31st; winner to be selected and contacted at 5pm same day. Both the bride and groom to be must be 18 years of age or older. This person will be chosen at random and will propose on the swing, Saturday, June 8th.
