High-Energy Special Event Production Company
Seeks High-Energy Intern

This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to boost their resume and a career interest in event production. Seasonal internships are available for those that are friendly, flexible, energetic, self-motivated and dedicated. Norfolk Festevents, Ltd. has garnered international acclaim for its special events and festivals designed to attract visitors to Hampton Roads and to improve the quality of life for the region’s residents.

Non-paying internships are available for college credit with the Programming and Entertainment Department. All interns will be scheduled to work 40 hours per week in addition to event weekends. Each internship should average on average 400-600 hours (depending on what is required by the accredited college or university). 

General Internship Duties to Include:

• Daily set up, break down, upkeep, and inventory of Town Point Park
• Take direction well from managers
• Maintain general cleanliness and maintenance of park and activities
• Serve as on site contact for weekly scheduled events
• Assist with festival guest relations
• Help with decorating the park for major events including scaffold towers, flags and staging
• Conduct records of daily operations in park
• Assist in gathering survey data during events
• Trouble shoot and solve various challenges that might arise
• Attend planning meetings upon request

Intern must be able to:

• Smile and maintain positive attitude
• Work well under stressful situations and on your feet for long periods of time
• Lift and carry at least 40 pounds at one time
• Climb a ladder and/or scaffolding
• Be self motivated, energetic and posses strong public relation skills
• Be available days, nights, weekends, holidays and work as many as 16 hours in a day

Most of the concerts, festivals and special events fall on the weekends, so availability and flexibility is a must.  The ideal candidate is willing to sweat a little bit and smile a lot.  A great working atmosphere in an outdoor setting awaits you.
